Who You Calling Polyandrous?

There is a small shorebird common in our bay at this time of year that follows the unusual practice of polyandry.  It’s the female Red-necked Phalarope that wears the colorful plumage while her drab male counterpart incubates and raises their young. Meet at the Interpretive Center and we’ll head into the freshwater marsh to find these super birds. Ages 12+. $5.
