I first saw the Bay Area in 1966 as a wide-eyed Reed College freshman. A few years later, as a cartoonist for Portland's Willamette Bridge Newspaper, I was frequently reprinted in the Berkeley Barb and Tribe.

After "The Sixties" wound down my girlfriend Elsbeth and I moved to Berkeley and then Richmond. In 1981 we were married at our Aunt Gert's in Albany. After working in CAD for years, I returned part-time to San Francisco State in 1995, earning a BA in Conceptual and Information Arts in 2000. Only 34 years! In 2004, after Gert passed on, we moved to Albany, giving up much of my Richmond proletarian street-cred.

Now I am returning to my cartooning roots, launching my unique perspective on Albany and beyond into the blogosphere.
