You've heard of a house going to the dogs, but this one was bought for the dogs. Betty and Chip Cormier quit…More their corporate jobs and bought this rural CV property in 1998 so they could open a doggy day care. By closely modeling its program after human day care, they've taken the concept to a whole new level. "Kampers" at Kamp K9 have their own cubbies for their belongings; the Cormiers lead them in supervised play sessions and games; nap time is followed by cookies; the dogs even do arts and crafts projects to take home to Mom & Dad (think paw painting!) A daily report card for each Kamper documents the day's activities, who played with whom, and who got time-outs. The fenced play area with climbing structures, wading pools and toys can handle 20 dogs at a time, but 15 is more typical. A thorough three-stage intake evaluation minimizes problems and ensures that all creatures great and small have a good time.
