San Lorenzo High School is one of four high schools in the San Lorenzo Unified School District, serving nearly 1,500 students in grades 9 through 12. It received an Academic Performance Index ranking of 666 for the 2009-10 school year.
The student body is 52 percent Latino, 21 percent African American, 8 percent white, 7 percent Asian and 7 percent Filipino. About 18 percent are considered English-language learners.
Additionally, 43 percent of students recieve free or reduced meals.
Since the 2008-09 school year, all students have been enrolled in one of three "small learning communities." San Lorenzo High School's mission is "to challenge students to reach their highest level of academic achievement, to provide opportunities and support for social and emotional growth and to build connections to future education, assisting them to become successful members of the 21st century society."
