Arroyo High School is one of four high schools in the San Lorenzo Unified School District, serving more than 1,900 students grades 9-12. It received an Academic Performance Index of 771 for the 2009-10 school year.
The student body is 39 percent Latino, 22 percent white, 17 percent Asian, 10 percent Filipino and seven percent African American. About eight percent are considered English language learners.
Additionally, 22 percent of students recieve free or reduced meals.
Beginning in the 2010-11 academic year, all students will enroll in one of three 'small learning communities.'
Arroyo High School's mission is "to provide an environment in which all students will acquire the necessary skills to become responsible thinkers, who appreciate diversity and are productive citizens in their community."
