Want to Help Couples Tie the Knot? Volunteers Needed for Civil Ceremonies

There is an urgent need for volunteers on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Volunteers are needed at the Alameda County Clerk-Recorder’s Office to perform Civil Marriage Ceremonies, for a minimum of 2-and-a-half hours per week.

Qualifications

  • Personal Commitment to Alameda County Clerk-Recorder’s Department.
  • Commitment to Quality Service and Helping Others.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Minimum age: 35 years of age or older.

NOTE:

  • Persons who are fluent in languages other than English are encouraged to apply.
  • When deputized as a Marriage Commissioner, you take on the duties without compensation.
