Soroptimist International of the East Bay will sponsor an eWaste and Shredding Fundraiser open to the public April 28 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
It will be held behind at 20439 Redwood Road, Castro Valley.
The following items will be accepted for recycling at no charge: Televisions, Monitors, Laptops, Flat Screens, Cell Phones, Ink jet cartridges and Wire.
There will be a $5 fee/each to recycle items the same or similar to: CPU's, Telephones, Printers, Copiers, DVD Players, Fax Machines, VCR's, Stereos and Video Game Consoles.
A $15 to $30 fee will be charged per microwave oven. Used batteries will be accepted at $3 per pound. Light bulbs and fluorescent lamps will also be accepted for a nominal fee.
You can bring a banker box full of papers to be shredded for $8 per box. A certificate of destruction will be mailed to you after your paper documents are destroyed.
All items will be recycled according to California State law.
