It's not too late to get your name engraved on the Memorial, the following opportunities are still available for Donors.

Greetings, the Veterans Memorial Committee has been hard at work planning and preparing for the ground breaking set for this weekend, Saturday March 3rd   1:00 at the Castro Valley Community Center on Lake Chabot Rd.

I have attached a YouTube video for you to preview the Memorial. Please come out and celebrate with us this Saturday.

It's not too late to get your name engraved on the Memorial, we offer the following opportunities for Donors.

Granite Stones for each Branch of Service

Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard and Merchant Marines. Yes we felt strongly that we should Honor the Sacrifice of our Merchant Marines...These Stones are reserved for Active Military and Veterans only; for a donation of only $200 you can have your name, a relative or friends name engraved on their Service Stone. Each Donor is given 20 characters (a space counts as one) you may place name, rank, years served, an abbreviation for the War era however you choose within the space provided.

Bricks

Bricks are available to anyone, Veteran or general public; for a donation of $100 you may place your name, business name or a respectful message to honor and thank the Veterans. The bricks have 3 lines with 14 characters per line (a space counts as one).

Bronze, Silver & Gold Sponsors

This is primarily intended for businesses or organizations but is available to anyone; for a donation of $1000.   /   $2000   or   $3000 respectively you will be listed as a sponsor on the back or the entrance stone. There will be ample spaces for you to place your business or family name.

Another problem: When notified of a reply to a comment I could click the link in the email to go toRead More the article. That was not possible this time. So because a small minority zooms there computer the layout should be as it is? I don't think so. All that white space means that an article that could be read with just one or two clicks to scroll through is now going to take more scrolling to view. One thing that seems to be missing in today's world are web designers who (1) change the layout just because and (2) web designers who have neglected to consider the audience. The more I look at this layout the less I like it. The font needs to be darker than it is. the blue (like in "announcements") needs to be bolder. Overall, on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 best), I rank the new "improved" design a 3.
