Trojans Fall in NCS Playoffs

The Varsity team's playoff hopes ended Tuesday with a loss to the Newark Cougars.

The Trojan Varsity men’s baseball team had a great year, with a 15-11 overall record including a fantastic 12-1 run to close out the regular season.

But the first NCS playoff game on Tuesday proved to be a bridge too far, as they fell to the Newark Cougars 5 to 1.

Starting pitcher Luke Lederman had a rough first inning, but Brendan Maldonado came in to help out through the middle innings, and Jason Seaver closed it out. Offensively Cody Bacho, Jake Giuntoli and Colby Wright each had a pair of singles, and Desi Bradford singled with an RBI, but that was all the offense the Trojans could muster and in the end it wasn’t enough.
