All Saints pressed, contested and tried to bully OLG girls most of the game with strong defense and weren't going to go down without a fight.

However, the Lady Lions were prepared to answer every action with their own strong defense, rebounds, fast breaks and excellent outside shooting.

In the regular season, the Lady Lions took second place with a 1-2 record versus All Saints, but they proved to the league and, most importantly, themselves that they could win when it counted most in the championship game.

In the diocese playoffs, the 5A girls were Metro League’s first seed.  In game one, they beat St. Theresa 34-10.  However, they lost game two to the defending diocese 4A champion, St. Bede, 27-13.

Even so, the OLG 5A girls have nothing to be ashamed of and much to be proud of.  When you consider they were only a fourth-place league finisher last year as fourth graders and that their team was eliminated quickly in game one of the league playoffs, you realize the magnitude of their achievement this year.

In addition, the 5A girls went deep into the post-season only to get the toughest tournament draw and lose in the diocese semi-final game.

Congratulations, 5A girls and coaches, for an excellent season.
