Castro Valley Students Among 107 Golfers at 2011 Pirate Golf Tournament

Under the blue skies of a beautiful spring day along the San Francisco Bay, 107 high school golfers took to the links. 

The 2011 Pirate Golf Tournament, held on Monday at San Leandro's , drew students from 17 Bay Area schools, including .

Now in its 13th year, the tournament originally served as a showcase of the city's golf facilities. The tournament now serves as a fundraiser for's golf program, with each player paying a $10 green fee.

The par 71 Tony Lema course boasts 7,015 yards of playing area along the edge of the bay.
