Meet the Winners of the 2012 Student Poetry and Art Contest

The Castro Valley Educational Foundation and the Castro Valley Unified School District are showcasing students' creations at the Castro Valley Library.

and the  honored the winners of the 2012 Poetry & Art Show contest. 

Many talented students from    and School submitted original poems illustrated with art. Some were deep and dark, others light and upbeat. The winning poems were read at the , and their work is now on exhibit there.

Here are the winners:

High School: Lily Carell (2nd Place), Noelle Leong (1st Place), Di Tran (3rd Place).

Middle School: Clare Moisan (Honorable Mention), Miranda Xie (3rd Place), Callie Ross-Smith (1st Place), Keanu Dasalla (2nd Place).

First prize was $100, $50 for second prize and $25 for third prize.

Castro Valley Unified School District students in grades 6 through 12 were eligible to apply. The finalists' poems will be published in an anthology and be available for purchase. For more information, e-mail poem@cvef.org
