SOSCV! Presents Castro Valley School District With $31,000 Check

Since its formation in 2009, the nonprofit has contributed a total of $135,000 to CVUSD.

Despite looming budget cuts for the (CVUSD) and the , there was one reason to smile at Thursday night's school board meeting.

Save Out Schools Castro Valley! (SOSCV!) board members Steve Ontiveros and Brett Pletcher presented the district a check for $31,000 — their largest to date.

So far, the nonprofit organization has contriubted a total of $135,000 to the CVUSD since it started in 2009.

Ontiveros told Patch that a large portion of donations comes from invidual and corporate donors. Events and fundraisers such held at every several months, also raises a good amount of money for the schools.

The next Tips For Education fundraiser will be on March 29.
