Social Media Classes This Fall in Castro Valley

Come get acquainted with new social media platforms and feel more comfortable using them at three workshops offered by the adult school

 

Three classes on social media are among the many Fall offerings at the Castro Valley Adult Education and Career Center. Each of the three classes costs $25 and all will be held at the adult school at 4430 Alma Avenue.

Facebook for Beginners will be held September 29 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.  This class is for those who are new to using Facebook or who are already using it but want to learn more about its many features. The presentation will include computer lab time to help you get started. Pre-registration is required and must be completed by September 27. This course number is 201800.

On October 13 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. "Managing Your Online Presence" will be offered. In this course participants will learn how to better manage privacy settings on their social media accounts, how to set up a LinkedIn profile, what "netiquette" means and the importance of "Googling" yourself.The course instructor says this class is especially relevant for current job seekers. This will be a hands-on class, with at least half of it reserved for computer lab time.You must preregister in advance no later than October 11. The course number is 201700.

Marketing Using Social Media will be presented October 27 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. This class includes a brief overview of Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and blogging, as well as an introduction to scheduling tools and analytics. This is a hands-on class taught in the adult school's computer labs. A familiarity with social media is recommended before taking this class.  Register no later than October 25. This course number is 201600.
