San Lorenzo High Celebrates Solar Panel Completion

San Lorenzo High School is the first of seven schools in the school district to have a solar system installed. Millions in dollars in savings are estimated over the life of the project.

From a press release issued by Chevron  -

Join on Monday, May 21, as it celebrates the completion of its first solar power project at the gymnasium located at 50 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo.

The 1.02-megawatt solar photovoltaic system, constructed at seven schools and the district office, is expected to save the district more than $4.5 million over the life of the project. The district receives immediate savings and long-term budget relief. Students benefit from new learning opportunities about energy conservation, sustainability and the clean-tech economy.

Chevron Energy Solutions designed and built the solar power system.

The program will begin promptly at 4 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
