School Board: What Do Parents Groups Say about Fundraising Fairness?

Is it fair that some schools get great programs paid for by parent groups while others do without? The school board is interested in hearing from parent groups and principals. A philosophical discussion is on Thursday's board agenda.

The school board meets at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25, at the Castro Valley Unified School District office. The agenda includes:

  • An update on solar projects at Castro Valley High School, Canyon Middle School, and Adult & Career Education/District Office. For details, see Page 33 of the agenda.
  • Continued discussion about whether it's OK for educational resources to be distributed unequally, depending on which parent groups raised more money. For details, see Page 34 of the agenda.
