New Classes at Castro Valley Adult and Career Education

Castro Valley Adult and Career Education is offering a number of social media and marketing, business productivity, entrepreneurship, and productivity enhancement courses this fall, all designed to foster local business success.

For local companies and entrepreneurs looking to build awareness and drive business, the school offers courses in using social media more effectively and creatively. Classes include marketing using social media, fundamentals of using Facebook, and blogging for business. Another class of note -- managing one’s personal on-line presence -- is especially relevant for job-seekers who use social media.

Business productivity classes include accounting, QuickBooks, software applications such as Microsoft Office, classes to support Mac users, and keyboarding. The school offers a range of computer education courses for people of all technical abilities, from novice to advanced.

New entrepreneurship classes include courses in launching an independent business, marketing a home-based business, and fundamentals of rental real estate.

Negotiation and time-management classes are also new additions to the course offerings this fall. These courses are valuable for anyone wanting to bolster his or her goal-setting abilities, business or salary negotiation skills, or productivity on the job.

The courses are offered in partnership with the Castro Valley/Eden Area Chamber of Commerce. Fall quarter begins Tuesday, August 28.
