“I am very pleased to announce that the district has hired a well-respected Director of Technology, John Perry, to continue the work that retiring Director Bruce Gidlund has successful managed for the past 16 of years,” stated Superintendent Jim Negri.

For the past ten years, Perry has been the Director of Information Technology for the Emery Unified School District (Alameda County).

Superintendent Negri added, “[Perry] comes to Castro Valley with the highest respect and recommendations of the Emery educational community especially from those with whom [Perry] has worked and his colleagues in the technology field.”

Perry is described to be "knowledgeable, hard-working, hands-on, an innovator, someone who reaches out to the community, a teacher, a colleague, focused on learning, honest, ethical, and has a high level of integrity,” according to Negri.

“We are very pleased to have John bring his outstanding experience and expertise to the district,” concluded Superintendent Negri.
