Castro Valley's Assistant Superintendent of Business Services Retires
After a 32-year professional career and four years with Castro Valley Unified School District, Mike Bush, Assistant Superintendent of Business Services, will be retiring.
After serving four years with the , the Assistant Superintendent of Business Services will retire by the end of the school year.
Mike Bush, 56, has gotten a taste of both public and private business sectors after working for numerous companies and agencies in the past 32 years.
For the past four years, Bush has given countless presentations and updates at school board meetings regarding where CVUSD stands financially.

"Castro Valley's been known for its stability and being a high-achieving school district," Bush said.
Out of all that he's done with the school district, Bush said "it's been the people that I've worked with," that he will miss most.

Since taking on the role as assistant superintendent, Bush has also been on the Castro Valley Arts Foundation Board of Directors. He worked as a liaison between the CVUSD and the Arts Foundation regarding financial operations at the .
Though he's watched countless performances at the center, he said he's looking forward to seeing his last before retiring.
"I will enjoy seeing Hairspray coming up in July."
His business career started with Del Monte's California division in 1980, helping forecast fruit prices. He then moved on to explore a start up company and then became a Vice President for KNN Public Finance.
He blended business with education when he began working for the Alameda County Office of Education, but then focused on specific school districts such as Piedmont and San Ramon as an assistant superintendent.
Once retired, Bush hopes to focus more on his many personal interests including photography, bicycling, kyaking and gardening.
His last day will be July 13, 2012. He said CVUSD is in the works of finding his replacement.
