Applications for Holiday Help for CV Families Being Accepted Now

Castro Valley Outreach is gathering names now for those wishing to apply for Thanksgiving Food Baskets and who need help through its Adopt-A-Family program

A year-round program set up to exclusively help families with children enrolled in Castro Valley schools is currently taking applications from families seeking Thanksgiving Food Baskets or assistance through its Adopt a Family Program.

If your family needs help, or you know one who does, you are encouraged to contact the principal at your child's school or Ray Harris at 510-889-7743 (evenings only).

CV Outreach (also known as CVO) is an organization composed of Castro Valley parents and educational professionals who help local families who have children attending Castro Valley schools who are in crisis or suffering a temporary hardship. It is committed to maintaining the anonymity of the families it helps.

In the past the group has provided an array of assistance to families including food, clothing, furniture and help with medical and dental needs. You can read a Castro Valley Patch article written about the organization in the past which traces its history and mission here.

If you have questions, would like to make a donation to the organization or have time to volunteer contact Harris at the number above.

Another problem: When notified of a reply to a comment I could click the link in the email to go toRead More the article. That was not possible this time. So because a small minority zooms there computer the layout should be as it is? I don't think so. All that white space means that an article that could be read with just one or two clicks to scroll through is now going to take more scrolling to view. One thing that seems to be missing in today's world are web designers who (1) change the layout just because and (2) web designers who have neglected to consider the audience. The more I look at this layout the less I like it. The font needs to be darker than it is. the blue (like in "announcements") needs to be bolder. Overall, on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 best), I rank the new "improved" design a 3.
