Getting Started Couponing; Where to Find Coupons Series part 5 of 5 — Coupon Swaps

The Hayward Coupon Queen takes us through a 5-part series on how to find coupons. In the last part of the series, finding coupons by swapping is the focus.

You need coupons to start! There are many different ways to get/find coupons.

In the first part of this series, ; in the second part of the series, ; in the third part of the series, and in the fourth part of the series we discussed the .

In the last part of this series, we will discuss coupon swapping, which is one of my favorites! There are many ways that you can swap coupons. You can swap with a friend, co-worker, a neighbor, just about anyone that has coupons.

What works best for me is to cut out all of the coupons every Sunday, from the newspaper inserts. Then I set aside the one’s I won’t use in a share pile. Of course, another way may work better for you, so you just need to figure out what that way is.

Every couple of week’s or so, . We each pass around our “share piles” and whoever attends can take any coupons they want from what is shared.

To me, this is a lot of fun because not only do we get to share our coupons, but we also get to share coupon stories with other couponers too! We also use part of our time to learn from each other.

Maybe you haven’t tried a certain store because you thought it was too hard or weren’t sure how to stack store coupons with manufacturer coupons. This is a great time to get together and ask questions and become a smarter couponer.

I also like that I can get multiples of the same coupon in a quick hour with a few people. Now, if I find a deal that requires multiples of a coupon or I come across a hot deal where I can get a bunch of stuff free or cheap, I will now have multiples of coupons that I can use to score a great deal and stock up!

But how can you find a coupon swap group you ask? You can check craigslist, meetup.com, your local library and friends, to see if there are already coupon swaps near you. You can also check out my calendar of events to find out when our next swap in Hayward is.

I hope you have enjoyed this series and found it helpful to you. I would love to hear some feedback — questions, comments, etc. I love to talk couponing and would welcome the feedback you might have.
