On Saturday, Sept. 8, the San Lorenzo Certified Farmers' Market on Hesperian Boulevard and Paseo Grande will be hosting a free-to-the-public cooking demonstration event called "Grill Crazy."
The market will be open from 9 a.m.to 1 p.m. and there will be several demonstration events through the day starting at approximately 10 a.m. If you or anyone you know is a fan of outdoor grilling, than this is a great opportunity to learn or brush up on basic grill-master skills such as:
Farm To Table - Learn to pick out the best market produce for the grill
Maintenance - Grill Maintainence, Marinades, Direct vs. Indirect Heat, Searing
New Recipes - Expand your grilling possibilities with eggplant, sandwiches, broccoli, apricots, nectarines, corn, sauces, peppers, and more!
The demonstration will be hosted by Mario Hernandez, chef for the Cookin' the Market which is a Pacific Coast Farmers' Market Association program that emphasizes fresh and seasonal ingredients, healthy recipes and easy preparations to demonstrate that anyone, regardless of time or talent, can cook fresh and nutritious foods that not only taste better, but are also better for you.
Remember, the San Lorenzo Farmers' Market is also open every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., May through October at Hesperian Bouleard and Paseo Grande.
