With Black Friday coming up, you really want to take advantage of the bargains and at the same time buy a worthy camera.
In my previous posts, I talked about brands and subject matter. Today, I will explain the types of cameras, from point & shoot to dslr.
I'm a Canon user so this is what I know best but if you click here you’ll find good camera reviews.
My favorite point & shoot camera at a great price is the Canon Powershot A3300 IS. It has great reviews and great picture quality. You can’t beat it with that $129.00 price at Walmart. Also, it has video. It’s very simple to use and fits in your pocket nicely.
If you want to spend just a little more but don’t want to get a dslr then, the Canon Powershot SX40 HS will do. It is a little bit bigger and will give you a bigger zoom, 8 frames per second and much more. You will definitely be able to capture some great shots from far away without loosing quality and HD video.
I don’t want to talk to much about dslrs. But, if you want more creative control of your photographs this is the best way to go.
If you want to get started I would definitely chose the Canon Rebel T3i. The great thing about dslrs is that you’re able to put a flash on them. Remember, the point & shoot flash will only reach about 8-10 feet. The T3i will shoot an amazing 1080p HD video. It also captures low light photos without flash.
With all these brands and types, I will say one thing: get a fast card for your camera. Most of these cameras take SD cards. Most folks will buy the cheapest SD card in the store and most clerks will tell you that there’s no difference. But there is.
I used to buy the cheapest card and always wondered why my camera took a while to shoot the next shot. If you want fast capture and not choppy video pay a little bit more. It's worth it. Buy a SD card that has a writing speed no less that 45 mbs. This makes a big difference on your camera.
Remember: camera brands, subject matter and point & shoot or DSLR.
Don't get tricked on buying something you don't need. My best advise is to practice on composition.
