Volunteers Needed to Help at Local Senior Centers

Hayward Area Recreation and Park District is putting out an appeal for people to assist its senior and active adult programs in Castro Valley, Hayward and Ashland

Do you have a little time on your hands and want to make a difference in your community? The Hayward Area Recreation and Park District (H.A.R.D.) may have a volunteer opportunity for you to consider.

It is currently seeking volunteers to work in a variety of roles in its senior and active adult programs.

Volunteer slots include working as a senior transport driver, providing entertainment at special senior events, working at a senior center's front desk, helping call bingo and assisting with its hot lunch program.

H.A.R.D. operates four senior facilities, the Kenneth C. Aitken Senior and Community Center at 17800 Redwood Road Castro Valley; the Hayward Area Senior Center at 22325 North Third Street Hayward; the Ashland Senior Satellite Group at 1530 167th Avenue San Leandro and the Matt Jiminez Senior Satellite Group at 2800 Ruus Road Hayward.

For more information, you can call 510-881-6768.
