A big project is on the horizon.
The East Bay Municipal Utility District will start work in the fall of 2014 on a year-long project to strengthen Chabot Dam to sustain a possible 7.25 magnitude earthquake on the Hayward Fault.
Blogger Mike Katz-Lacabe reports that "the West Shore Trail between Chabot Park and Lake Chabot will . . . be closed during construction."
An environmental impact report is being prepared and there will be an opportunity for public comment.
