Health Center Speaks Out About its Role in the Community

Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center, Inc. is seeking to become a Federally Qualified Health Center partner with St. Rose Hospital in Hayward

 

From a press release issued by Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center, Inc. -

"Currently, thousands of children may no longer have access to care resulting from the closure of the dental services at Silva Pediatric Clinic, and St. Rose Hospital’s plans to restructure their medical services at that facility. Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center, Inc. (TVHC) and St. Rose Hospital in Hayward have shared a common goal of improving the health of our community, by providing pediatric primary care.

TVHC is currently working to be the Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) partner with St. Rose Hospital to ensure that these vulnerable children from low-income families will continue to have quality primary healthcare.  Under the direction of our Chief Executive Officer, Joel Garcia, TVHC has assembled a premier Operations Team to review, assess, and implement strategies on multi-faceted health delivery systems.

TVHC leads the community in primary and preventive care and strives to be foremost in fully implementing the complex, sweeping changes, of Health Reform by 2014, which includes how healthcare is delivered and financed.

The current landscape of healthcare in central and southern Alameda County portrays many challenges.  These challenges include those now facing St. Rose Hospital, long an important provider of much needed inpatient and related care to the residents of our community.

For 40 years, TVHC’s multi-disciplinary clinical, programmatic, and administrative staff has delivered quality, culturally and linguistically appropriate health care and social services to approx. 15,000 patients and clients annually in Alameda County."
