The Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) is turning 40 years old and in honor of its anniversary Dreyer's is hosting half-a-dozen free ice cream give-aways at various stations along the BART line.
In Castro Valley, the community can enjoy free ice cream at its BART station on October 13 between 1 and 4 p.m. The station is located at 3301 Norbridge Avenue.
BART representatives will be on hand outside of the station faregates to thank riders for their years of patronage and provide information about the transit system's field trip program for classrooms.
Similar events will be staged Oct. 13 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Fremont BART station and October 27 from 1 to 4 p.m. at El Cerrito Plaza and Pittsburg/Bay Point BART stations. Additional ice cream give-aways were already held in September at the Rockridge and Powell Street BART stations.
