Come Out For Stadium Aid Fundraiser at Ricky's September 13

The public is invited to join professional sports celebrities and Bay Area elected officials at this event nearby in San Leandro

From Save Oakland Sports -

SaveOaklandSports  will hold its First Annual "Stadium Aid" fundraising drive, mixer and fan celebration at the legendary   in nearby San Leandro September 13 from 6 to 10 p.m.

The program and guest list for the event at Ricky’s, located at 15028 Hesperian Boulevard, are evolving. SaveOaklandSports (SOS) has invited local celebrities including, but not limited to, former Oakland A's and Raiders.

Among the invitees scheduled to attend are longtime (now retired) sports columnist and author Dave Newhouse, Oakland Mayor Jean Quan, , San Ramon Vice Mayor Jim Livingstone,  Dublin City Councilman Eric Swalwell, former Raiders John Vella, Barry Sims and Kenny Shedd as well as Nancy H. Finley, the daughter of former Oakland A’s owner Charlie Finley.

At the event there will be raffle prizes and or silent auction items donated by local businesses and individuals.

There is no cover charge, but a $10 donation is suggested.  A donation of any amount will be greatly appreciated. During the evening Save OaklandSports will unveil its new T-shirts which will be available for sale at the event.

All proceeds raised will go toward an Oakland Stadium Fund.  If the teams decide not to build new stadiums in Oakland, then all proceeds will be applied to East Bay community charitable projects.

SOS hopes this event will be the first in a series to raise funds to help support new stadiums for Oakland’s professional sports teams and/or community projects.

You are invited to join SaveOaklandSports and help rally to keep our teams in Oakland.

Another problem: When notified of a reply to a comment I could click the link in the email to go toRead More the article. That was not possible this time. So because a small minority zooms there computer the layout should be as it is? I don't think so. All that white space means that an article that could be read with just one or two clicks to scroll through is now going to take more scrolling to view. One thing that seems to be missing in today's world are web designers who (1) change the layout just because and (2) web designers who have neglected to consider the audience. The more I look at this layout the less I like it. The font needs to be darker than it is. the blue (like in "announcements") needs to be bolder. Overall, on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 best), I rank the new "improved" design a 3.
