College Financial Planning Workshop December 15

Free event at Castro Valley Library for parents and teens starts at 2:30 p.m.

A free workshop for teens and their parents to learn tips to maximize the amount of financial aid one is eligible for and to discover some of the best strategies of how to pay for college will be held December 15 at 2:30 p.m. at the Castro Valley Library, located at 3600 Norbridge Avenue.

The event is being put on by Edumonic. Edunomics’ mission is to educate families on college funding, and help them find college funding strategies that would work best for their situation.  By partnering with national networks that actively support families for more than 20 years, their goal is to ensure that families get the best existing services

Topics that will be covered include how to increase your eligibility for financial aid; ways to pick colleges that will give you the best financial aid packages; information about increasing  your tax deductions and tax credits; tips on how to send your child to an expensive private university for less than a state school; when and how to apply for financial aid and strategies for lowering your out of pocket costs.
