Castro Valley Physician Joins Health Care District Board

Dr. Ronald Hull, D.P.M., was elected to the Eden Township Healthcare District Board of Directors.

Dr. Ronald Hull, D.P.M., was elected to the Eden Township Healthcare District Board of Directors by popular vote in the November 6 General Election. Hull has been an appointed incumbent to the ETHD Board since March 2012.

A practicing podiatrist for Bay Valley Medical Group in their Hayward and Castro Valley offices, Dr. Hull has been a member of the local medical community for more than 20 years.  He was in private practice for 18 years in Castro Valley, before joining Bay Valley Medical Group. He currently holds hospital privileges at Eden Medical Center Department of Surgery in Castro Valley, St. Rose Hospital Department of Surgery in Hayward and San Leandro Surgery Center.

“I ran for the position because as a podiatrist, I make my living from providing healthcare to District residents. This is a way I can give back to the community,” says Hull.

Having worked on the board for the past eight months, Hull says,  he hopes “to see the District into a more financially healthy, less confrontational period where we concentrate on our mission of improving access to healthcare within the District, especially for the underserved.

Prior to his election to the board, Hull served on the Eden Township Healthcare District Community Advisory Committee. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Baywood Court retirement community in Castro Valley and is an ambassador at the Oakland Museum of California. Dr. Hull is a practicing podiatrist for Bay Valley Medical Group in the Hayward and Castro Valley offices.

Three candidates ran for two board openings in the General Election; local practicing physician and former ETHD Board member, Dr. Vin Sawhney, local businessman and retired systems analyst David Coleman and Dr. Hull. Doctors Hull and Sawhney won the positions with a combined 70 percent of the vote.
