Anonymous 'Campaign' Sign Calls Hayashi 'Thief'

The East Bay politico is running for supervisor despite her shoplifting scandal.

 

Assemblywoman Mary Hayashi pleaded no contest earlier this year to shoplifting luxury goods from Neiman Marcus. She accepted probation without technically admitting guilt.

Now she is running for supervisor in the Second District to fill a seat left vacant by the resignation of Nadia Lockyer.

Blogger and Democratic party activist Marga Lacabe thinks her prinicpal opponent, Richard Valle, is letting Hayashi off easy by not explicitly raising the shoplifting issue.

But someone did just that this week with a hand-painted sign propped up in front of the Castro Valley Safeway.
