Some changes, as a result of the law, have already begun. Lawsuits have been filed to overturn portions of the law. Some politicians have recommended overturning the whole act, itself.

Organizers say the forum will address questions about what effect the complex and controversial Act will have on people's health coverage, how it will impact the cost and availability of health insurance, whether Medicare coverage will be impacted and what constitutes basic care.

Director Briscoe will also describe what the act will mean for the local community.

This program is open to the public and there is no charge for those who would like to attend just the program, without lunch. However, RSVPs are requested and should be e-mailed to lwvea@aol.com or call by calling Suzanne at 510-538-0678.

The cost of the lunch is  $10 if paid by February 28th, otherwise cost for lunch will be $15 at the door.
