Vehicle Collision With Bicyclist On Redwood Road Leaves 15-Year-Old With Moderate Injuries

A 15-year-old Hayward boy sustained moderate injuries after getting hit by a car on Redwood Road Wednesday evening.

A bicyclist riding down Redwood Road Wednesday evening was hit by a car, according to CHP Public Information Officer Daniel Jacowitz.

At 7:20 p.m., a 56-year-old Castro Valley man driving his 2010 MINI Cooper northbound on Redwood Road attempted to make a left turn near Wilson Avenue. As he proceeded to do so, he hit a 15-year-old bicyclist from Hayward, who was riding southbound, Jacowitz said.

The 15-year-old boy was rushed to Kaiser Permanente in Hayward with moderate injuries, according to Jacowitz.

He said both parties were not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The case is being further investigated by CHP.
