Magliari said the victim was hit by Train 544 traveling from San Jose to Sacramento.

KTVU reports that the accident occurred on the tracks near Lewelling Boulevard and Via Granada, and that authorities believe the teenager who was killed may have been playing a game of dares with three other boys.

The 133 passengers and five crew aboard the train were not injured. The collision caused delays of about two hours for Capitol Corridor Amtrak trains.
