An art teacher was arrested on Halloween night on suspicion of masturbating in public.

Bay City News Service

A teacher was allegedly found masturbating in a car in unincorporated Eden Township on Halloween night, and trying to attract the attention of passing trick or treaters, the Alameda County Sheriff's Office said this weekend.

Now investigators are looking for possible witnesses or victims, either to this alleged incident, or other possible incidents in nearby Castro Valley, San Lorenzo or San Leandro.

According to this report, the Sheriff's Office was contacted around 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 31 regarding a man seen masturbating in his car and disturbing passing children at Mateo Street and Green Court, Sgt. J.D. Nelson said.

Deputies found Carlos Tellez sitting in his gold 1998 Mazda Protege with his pants unzipped and pulled down to mid-thigh and his shirt pulled up to mid-chest, Nelson said.

He had been placed under citizen's arrest by a passer-by, and was detained without incident.

Tellez, an art teacher for the Livermore Valley Charter Preparatory, told deputies he was trying to relax after a stressful day of teaching, Nelson said.

Anyone with information should contact the Special Victims Unit at (510) 667-3645 or call the anonymous tip line at (510) 667-3622.
