Omega Avenue Killing: Police Seeking Man Who Lived at Crime Scene

Authorities are asking for the public's help in trying to locate Castro Valley resident Cody Tripp, 25, who hosted a party at his home where deputies later found the body of a Hayward man.

The Alameda County Sheriff's Office has issued a warrant for a Castro Valley man who hosted a party where a man was killed .

Investigators are asking for the public's help in locating Castro Valley resident Cody Tripp, 25, where authorities later found .

Investigators have learned that during the party at the residence located at the 4300 block of Omega Avenue.

On May 14, 2012, deputies arrived at Tripp's home around 7 p.m. after receiving calls about criminal activity in the area.

Sgt. J.D. Nelson of Alameda County Sheriff's Office said that when deputies went to do a routine probation check of a resident at the home, they found Vigil's body in the garage and a significant amount of blood. Police then froze the crime scene to obtain a search warrant according to Detective Sergeant Dave Dickson.

An autopsy by the Alameda County Coroners Bureau confirmed that Vigil was the victim of a homicide. 

According to an article by the San Francisco Chronicle, court records show that Tripp is on probation for "weapons possession and also has convictions for public intoxication and drug possession" while Vigil holds several convictions, including for possession of stolen property, burglary and auto theft.

Investigators learned that Tripp was present during the homicide and have obtained a no-bail warrant for his arrest in connection with this investigation.

Dickson said investigators have not been in contact with Tripp at all but have spoke with his family, who have not been very cooporative in sharing his whereabouts.
