Son to Cops: 'Daddy Killed My Mommy'

In this chilling story from Illinois, a 4-year-old boy allegedly watched his dad beat his mom to death -- a warning to us all to be on the lookout for domestic violence.

(This condensed version of a story that appeared on a Patch site in Illinois is a reminder to be alert to the signs of domestic violence.)

A man beat his wife to death with a weightlifting bar Wednesday as their 4-year-old son watched, prosecutors in Illinois charged Thursday.

. An autopsy report stated she was hit in the head more than 10 times.

When officers originally arrived at the family's home on Dec. 19 the first person they saw was the couple's 4-year-old son. The boy, whose face and clothing had blood spatters, told police, "Daddy killed my mommy," prosecutors said.

The suspect is being held on $5 million bail. If he posts bail a judge has ordered that he must turn in his American and Egyptian passports.

How I wish there could be a two-week (maximum) trial and then take this guy out and hang him publicly and televise it. And from then on every scummy jerk who commits this kind of vicious crime would be treated the same way. Justice, swift and sure. No tears, no sob stories about his bad childhood, no bleeding-hearts to weep and wail about how unfair the death penalty is.

Animal. Didn't Illinois ban the Death Penalty?
