Shooting Closes Hayward BART Station Saturday Night

One person was injured and taken to a local hospital.

The Hayward BART station was closed Saturday after a person was injured in a shooting just outside the station, a BART spokeswoman said.

The shooting was reported at about 10:20 p.m. in the bus zone outside the BART train station, BART spokeswoman Alicia Trost said.

The injured victim was transported to a hospital and their condition was not released, Trost said. Police investigated the shooting and the bus zone was cordoned off to preserve the crime scene.

Trains are continuing to run through the station, but are did not stop in Hayward Saturday night, Trost said. No suspect information has been released.
