UPDATE: Search Continues for Gun Used in Oikos Shooting

Reports confirm that no gun was found in a trash bin nearby Oikos University after police received a tip earlier this evening.

Police were left empty handed in locating what they hoped was the murder weapon inside a trash can not far from where Monday's shooting rampage occurred at Oikos University.

Earlier this evening, they received a tip that there was possibly a gun inside a trash can on Hegenberger Road and Edgewater Drive, according to news reports. It was unknown if that gun was the one used in the from Monday by suspect .

On Tuesday, in search of the gun because they had spotted fresh footprints leading towards the water.

The Oakland Tribune says that Goh told authorities that he bought the gun from  in Castro Valley in February. Indications show that the .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun was legally sold to Goh.
