Pedestrian Killed In Hayward Was San Lorenzo Man

 A man who was struck and killed Saturday night when he ran across Hesperian Boulevard has been identified by police as San Lorenzo resident Bradford Hardie.

Hardie, 68, was struck on Hesperian Boulevard near West Winton Avenue, Sgt. Chad Olthoff said. The collision was reported at 10:23 p.m.

Witnesses said Hardie was running across the roadway when the vehicle struck him in the middle northbound lane, Olthoff said. He was not in a crosswalk at the time, police said.

Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.

The driver stayed at the scene of the collision and is cooperating with investigators.
