UPDATE: Motorcyclist Injured in Crash Released From Hospital

Motorcyclist taken to Eden Hospital after a collision with a vehicle at the intersection of Crow Canyon Road and Castro Valley Boulevard.

A motorcyclist suffered minor injuries Tuesday afternoon in a collision with a car in the intersection of Castro Valley Boulevard and Crow Canyon Road in Castro Valley, a California Highway Patrol officer said Wednesday evening.

This refutes earlier reports that the motorcyclist was seriously injured.

The motorcyclist, a 67-year-old Walnut Creek resident, suffered a broken right ankle when he fell off his 2007 Harley Davidson and the bike rolled over on him, reports stated.

The accident was cleared at about 4:20 p.m. The victim was taken to Eden Medical Center and released from the hospital that night, CHP officer Rob Tuazon said.

The motorcycle collided with a Nissan Maxima driven by a 54-year-old Castro Valley resident and was more of a bump than a head-on collision, as was stated in preliminary reports, Tuazon said.

A witness said the motorcyclist went into shock at the scene, which also was inaccurate, he said.

The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was alert at the scene, Tuazon said.

The driver of the Nissan stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, according to reports.

The accident is under investigation by the CHP.
