The motorcycle hit the back end of a Coca-Cola tractor-trailer after running two red lights, according to the sheriff's department.

Kenneth Blake, 54, of San Leandro was killed instantly around 8 p.m. Wednesday after his motorcycle crashed into a Coca-Cola truck on Redwood Road in Castro Valley, according to Alameda County Sheriff's Sgt. J.D. Nelson.

Blake was driving recklessly when a sheriff's deputy tried to intervene, Nelson said. He ran two red lights at Norbridge Road and the entrance to Highway 580, Nelson said. The motorcycle hit the back end of the tractor-trailer, which was turning on a green light onto the highway, Nelson said.
