Update: High-winds Cause Early Morning Power Outage

Castro Valley PG&E customers lost power around 12:55 a.m. this Thursday morning.


Update: 1:26 p.m.

PG&E is blaming high winds for a power outage early Thursday morning that affected more than 3,000 customers in Castro Valley.

One of these customers being Eden Medical Center. The hospital used backup generators and none of their services were affected.

Power was restored to all PG&E customers by 9:07 a.m.

 An outage knocked out power to more than 3,100 PG&E customers in Castro Valley this morning, according to PG&E officials.
           
The outage began at about 12:55 a.m., according to PG&E.
           
A total of 3,140 PG&E customers remain without power in Castro Valley as of 1 a.m. this morning.
