Man Shot and Killed at Hayward Gas Station

A man sitting in his car was shot and killed at the Union 76 gas station at West Tennyson Road and Calaroga Avenue at around 5:30 p.m. Friday. The victim has not yet been identified. No arrests have yet been made.

Bay City News Service—A man was fatally shot while sitting in a parked car in Hayward Friday evening, police said.

Officers responded to the parking lot of a Union 76 gas station at West Tennyson Road and Calaroga Avenue at around 5:30 p.m. after receiving reports of shots fired.

A male suffering from gunshot wounds was found in a parked car in the parking lot. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Police said that the victim had been sitting in the parked car when at least one suspect approached and fired several rounds.

The suspect ran away and was not located during a search of the surrounding area, police said.

Investigators said that they do not believe this was a random act, although the motive for the shooting has not been determined.

The victim's identity had not been confirmed as of this morning, police said.
