One Killed in Hayward Mobile Home Fire

The fire was reported before 3 a.m.

One person was killed in a fire at a mobile home in unincorporated Hayward this morning, an Alameda County fire spokeswoman said.

A report of a fire at a single-wide mobile home in the 20600 block of Fuchsia Court came in shortly after 3 a.m., fire spokeswoman Aisha Knowles said. Firefighters arrived to the home and were met with a heavily involved fire, prompting them to force entry inside, Knowles said.

A victim was found at the front door of the home and pronounced dead at the scene, she said. Knowles said investigators are working to confirm the gender of the victim and the homeowner.

The blaze was knocked down about 20 minutes later and contained to the mobile home, according to Knowles. No other residents were located in the home, she said.

Investigators from the fire department and Alameda County Sheriff's Office have responded to the scene, Knowles said.
