Elderly Sisters Found Dead in San Lorenzo Home Identified

The causes of death for the women are unknown, but authorities do not suspect foul play.

By Bay City News

Two elderly sisters whose bodies were found decomposing in their San Lorenzo home last week were identified today.

An Alameda County coroner's deputy identified the women as 94-year-old Fusae Obata and Emi Obata, 88.

The pair was found dead in their apartment last week after the post office notified sheriff's officials that neither of the women had picked up their mail for a long period of time, Sgt. J.D. Nelson said.

Deputies went to the sisters' home on Elgin Street Friday evening and found both women dead.

Nelson said that although official causes of death have not been determined, no foul play is suspected.
