Eastbound I-580 Reopened After CHP Wraps Investigation of Possible Shooting

The incident was reported around 3:30 a.m. and did not affect the westbound traffic.

All eastbound lanes of Interstate Highway 580 in Castro Valley were shut down early this morning while authorities investigated a possible shooting on the highway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
 
The incident was reported at about 3:30 a.m. and prompted the CHP to close all eastbound lanes of Highway 580 between Redwood Road and Strobridge Avenue, the CHP reported.
 
The eastbound lanes were reopened by 5 a.m. Westbound lanes were not affected. Further details on the possible shooting were not immediately available.
