Crime Blotter: Possession of Burglary Tools, Lots of Public Drunkenness and Other Arrests

Notable arrests made in Castro Valley and San Lorenzo between March 26 and April 1.

Sunday, April 1

  • 11:48 a.m.: A 28-year-old Castro Valley man was arrested for contempt of court. He was arrested on the 19000 block of Crest Avenue.
  • 7:39 p.m.: Two transients (ages 30 and 29) were arrested for burglary, possession of burglary tools and being under the influence of a controlled substance. They were arrested on the corner of Via Arriba and Paseo Grande. (San Lorenzo)

Saturday, March 31

  • No notable arrests reported.

Friday, March 30

  • 6:41 p.m.: A 42-year-old Hayward man was arrested for suspicion of driving while under the influence (DUI) and resisting arrest. He was arrested on E. Lewelling Boulevard. (San Lorenzo)
  • 10:35 p.m.: A 16-year-old woman who did no provide residency was arrested for public drunkenness. She was arrested near Via La Jolla. (San Lorenzo)

Thursday, March 29

  • 1:07 a.m.: A 32-year-old Oakland man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and a Richmond man was arrested for theft and larceny. The were arrested on Delano Street. (San Lorenzo)
  • 2:37 a.m.: A 23-year-old San Lorenzo man was arrested for being in possession of burglary tools and violating probation. He was arrested on the corner of Via Media and Hacienda Avenue. (San Lorenzo)
  • 3:20 a.m.: A 21-year-old Hayward man was arrested for public drunkenness. He was arrested on the 4900 lbock of Jensen Road. (Castro Valley)
  • 5:10 a.m.: A 43-year-old San Lorenzo man was arrested for wreckless driving. He was arrested on the 16000 block of Yale Avenue. (San Lorenzo)

Wednesday, March 28

  • 1:55 p.m.: A 26-year-old San Lorenzo woman was arrested for theft and larceny. She was arrested on the 700 block of Washington Avenue. (San Lorenzo)
  • 10:49 p.m.: A 22-year-old Castro Valley man was arrested for public drunkenness and a 18-year-old Castro Valley man was arrested for public drunkenness and trespassing. The two were arrested on Redwood Road. (Castro Valley)

Tuesday, March 27

  • 1:27 p.m.: A 43-year-old San Lorenzo woman was arrested for embezzlement. The woman, who was a manager at  was arrested at the eatery on the 17000 block of Hesperian Boulevard, according to the police report. (San Lorenzo)

Monday, March 26

  • 10:55 p.m.: A Hayward woman in her 40s was arrested for driving with a suspended license. She was arrested on Redwood Road and Grove Way. (Castro Valley)

Another problem: When notified of a reply to a comment I could click the link in the email to go toRead More the article. That was not possible this time. So because a small minority zooms there computer the layout should be as it is? I don't think so. All that white space means that an article that could be read with just one or two clicks to scroll through is now going to take more scrolling to view. One thing that seems to be missing in today's world are web designers who (1) change the layout just because and (2) web designers who have neglected to consider the audience. The more I look at this layout the less I like it. The font needs to be darker than it is. the blue (like in "announcements") needs to be bolder. Overall, on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 best), I rank the new "improved" design a 3.
