Sunday, Aug. 26

  • 3:43 a.m.: A 42-year-old Man (no location listed) was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and vandalism. He was arrested on the 20100 block of Lake Chabot Road. (Castro Valley)
  • 12:46 p.m.: A 39-year-old Castro Valley man was arrested for making criminal threats, tampering with a wireless device to prevent it from being used to call public safety or law enforcement, possession of stolen property, battery, and negligent discharge of a firearm. He was arrested on the 20000 block of Garnet Court. (Castro Valley)
  • 8:27 p.m.: A 40-year-old Castro Valley man was arrested for robbery and child endangerment. He was arrested on the corner of Castro Valley Boulevard and Redwood Road. (Castro Valley)
  • 9:32 p.m.: A 49-year-old Castro Valley man was arrested for being an accessory to a felon and robbery. He was arreested on the 18500 block of Mountain Lane. (Castro Valley)

Saturday, Aug. 25

  • 12:20 a.m.: A 31-year-old Oakland man was arrested for battery on an officer. He was arrested on the 15700 block of Dermody Avenue. (San Lorenzo)

Friday, Aug. 24

  • No time listed: A 23-year-old Castro Valley man was arrested for suspicion of domestic violence and false imprisonment. He was arrested on the 21000 block of Wilbeam Avenue. (Castro Valley)
  • 9:30 p.m.: A 37-year-old Oakland man was arrested for carrying a dirk or dagger and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on the 1500 block of A Street. (Castro Valley)

Thursday, Aug. 23

  • 5:11 a.m.: A 41-year-old Daly City man was arrested for violating a domestic violence order and resisting arrest. He was arrested on Grove Way. (Castro Valley)
  • 4:20 p.m.: A 49-year-old San Lorenzo transient man was arrested for disorderly conduct and violating probation. He was arrested on the 15800 block of Via Alamitos. (San Lorenzo)
  • 5:20 p.m.: A 19-year-old San Lorenzo man was arrested for impersonation and failure to appear in court. He was arrested on the 1060 block of Elgin Street. (San Lorenzo)

Another problem: When notified of a reply to a comment I could click the link in the email to go toRead More the article. That was not possible this time. So because a small minority zooms there computer the layout should be as it is? I don't think so. All that white space means that an article that could be read with just one or two clicks to scroll through is now going to take more scrolling to view. One thing that seems to be missing in today's world are web designers who (1) change the layout just because and (2) web designers who have neglected to consider the audience. The more I look at this layout the less I like it. The font needs to be darker than it is. the blue (like in "announcements") needs to be bolder. Overall, on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 best), I rank the new "improved" design a 3.
