Coroner Officials ID 74-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed in Crash Wednesday

Jerry Rose of Hayward was hit Wednesday afternoon.

A 74-year-old man died from his injuries Thursday after he was struck by a car while walking in Hayward Wednesday afternoon, police said today.
 
The collision happened on Farm Hill Drive near La Mesa Drive at 4:23 p.m., police said. The victim was identified by the Alameda County coroner's bureau as Jerry Rose of Hayward. A 2014 Honda Odyssey hit Rose as he was walking, causing a severe head injury, police said.
 
Rose was taken to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley and placed on life support but died at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, police said. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, police said.
